Compressors – Manufacturer I

Challenge:

The transportation of large, heavy parts (between 10 and 15 tons in weight) from one process step to the next, to the painting cabine and to the test and assembly locations. Transport with a crane is restrictive and time-consuming.

Solution:

The simultaneous use of two M.I.T.s (modular individual transport systems) enabled  several pallets to be transported through the halls at the same time, which revolutionized logistics within the company.

Compressors – Manufacturer II

Challenge:

The transportation of heavy machine parts from the assembly area to the test bay and outdoors without the need for dis- and reassembly. Significant reduction in set-up times.

Solution:

The use of two coupleable M.I.T.s (modular individual transport systems) with an assembly table enabled quick and easy transport from the assembly area to the test bay and outdoors. This, in turn, enabled a reduction in set-up times of several weeks.

Mobile Robots

Challenge:

Facilitating easier work on long parts such as rotor blades. Carrying out heavy grinding work by hand poses a risk to health and is not ergonomic. The use of robots is aimed at relieving employees of this burden. However, the robot must be deployable in different places along the entire length of the part in order to be able to work on it.

Solution:

Through the use of an M.I.T. (modular individual transport system) and the automated line guiding technic, robots will be mobile and can be used to work around long parts.

Rotor Blades or Trains

Challenge:

Transportation of very long parts. Tractors are not suitable for this purpose, since it is not possible to drive curves in the production hall. The use of crane systems is similarly infeasible on account of the fact that they are time-consuming to operate and do not allows parts to be transported outdoors or from hall to hall.

Solution:

The opportunity to couple two or more M.I.T.s (modular individual transport systems) offers a range of highly flexible solutions. They can be controlled in the just the same way as a single vehicle and are capable of transporting projecting loads.

Mobile Work Platforms

Challenge:

Conversion of existing work platforms. Platforms should be able to be steered in all directions, even in the case that the ground is uneven.

Solution:

Fitting of the existing work platforms with a WFT drive, or complete revision of their design.

Production Lines / Aircraft Construction

Challenge:

Establishment of a production line for aircraft construction. Aircraft and work platforms must be transported along the production line very slowly. Continous process flow improves efficiency.

Solution:

Flow production of aircraft powered by a WFT drive. Work stations are propelled through the various sections of the production line at the same time as the aircraft. During this slow journey, the jet engine is installed and the interior is built in.

Production Line for Agricultural Machinery

Challenge:

Extension of an assembly line for agricultural machines. The new line should be suitable for heavy loads, should be flexible and extendable, and should limit floor installations as possible.

Solution:

Use of pallets driven by friction wheels. The line can be operated in a synchronized or a continuously moving manner as desired. Return transport of the pallets via an M.I.T. (modular individual transport system).

Mobile Crane

Challenge:

A crane is required. However, the structural engineering specifications of the hall are not sufficient to accommodate an indoor crane.

Solution:

A mobile crane powered by an M.I.T. (modular individual transport system) drive. The crane can move to all directions and operate inside the hall or outdoors.
